Can you feel it?

Jun 6, 2020

The entire world is shifting, transforming…

… not only in our environment, but also in our culture and our medical systems. And I think it’s about time. It can be scary, and it can be exciting. But if you keep two things in mind, it is definitely less terrifying.

One, we are all amazing creatures.

You are designed to be resilient, strong, and powerful. If you subscribe to the mainstream medical philosophy that an external force will swoop in and save you (think vaccine or drug or something outside of ourselves), then yes, this global pandemic is terrifying. The fear is: if you get sick, you’re sure to die; you need something to come in and save you. Or, you can trust yourself.

If you know that you are a resilient, strong, powerful, and amazing creature…
If you tune into yourself and trust that this is true, then you don’t have to be terrified.

You can be aware, you can be cautious. But you also can be empowered to live in a way that builds your strength, which builds your resilience.

We are all amazing, awe-inspiring human beings. Each and every one of us is an amazing being with amazing abilities and awe-inspiring resilience, no matter from where we come, what color we are, what our preferences are. You are an amazing human being, each and every one of you.

The second thing that makes this whole climate that we’re experiencing right now less terrifying is that…

We are within nature, not separate.

The healthier and stronger our world is – our environment, our societies – then the healthier and stronger we are as individuals. But conversely and more importantly, the healthier and stronger we are as individuals, the healthier and stronger our world becomes. So yes, this can be a terrifying time. However, if you focus on all of the positive changes that can come of this major shift, it’s much less terrifying and it’s much more exciting. We each as individuals have power over something. For some of us, folks that are white particularly, we have power over more things than for others, those who are black, particularly. However, we ALL have individual power over how we see the world and some of the choices that we make.

Please, work to do better in each moment to moment, day to day; make better choices to strengthen yourself, each other, and this beautiful world, of which you all are a vital part.

Make this day matter.

Do good.

I care about you all.
